State Route 299 - Buckhorn Summit Sandhouse, Trinity County

The Buckhorn Summit is almost at the Trinity/Shasta County line and is at an elevation of 2,646 feet. It is the last pass before the road drops down into the central Valley and continues into Redding. This camera is located approximately 21 miles east of Weaverville and about 24 miles west of Redding. State Route 299, also known as Highway 299 and the Trinity Highway, is a mostly 2-lane highway that begins at Highway 101 on the California coast and wends its way inland.
